Attorney, Brandon S. Vesely, is the founding partner of The Florida Appellate Firm, P.A. in St. Petersburg, Florida. Certified in appellate practice by The Florida Bar since 2009, Mr. Vesely has earned a reputation as one of the top appellate attorneys in the state. He has 25 years of appellate experience and has won or defended hundreds of appeals of prior rulings involving a wide range of legal matters, including civil and business litigation, family law, creditors' rights, evictions, and more.


Along with maintaining a successful appellate practice, Mr. Vesely routinely provides litigation support for other attorneys, including drafting dispositive motions, jury instructions, legal memoranda, and post-trial motions.


A 1991 graduate of Dartmouth College, Mr. Vesely obtained his law degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1994. He is admitted to practice before all the Florida state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida as well as before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 4th and 11th Circuits. Mr. Vesely also serves on The Florida Bar Appellate Court Rules Committee as well as on The Florida Bar's Appellate Practice Section. 


Recognized for his impeccable professionalism and exceptional legal abilities, Mr. Vesely has earned an AV-Preeminent* peer review rating of 5.0 from Martindale-Hubbell each year since 2004.  He was also named as a  Florida Super Lawyer in Appellate Practice in each of the past 4 years; and Florida Trend magazine voted him among the state's Legal Elite in 2015.  


Mr. Vesely resides in St. Petersburg with his Wife, Shirin M. Vesely, who also practices law, and his two teenage daughters.

Brandon S. Vesely, B.C.S., has been the lead appellate counsel on more than 200 appeals in state and federal court.   His appellate clients have included Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, and individuals.  Mr. Vesely has 24 years of experience and is Florida Bar Board Certified in Appellate Practice.   Board certification recognizes an attorney's special knowledge, skills and proficiency in an area of law and professionalism and ethics in practice. Established by the Florida Supreme Court, board certification helps consumers identify specialists in various areas of law. Mr. Vesely is proud to report that he is one of only 184 attorneys in Florida to carry the Board Certified designation for Appellate Practice out of  88,651 total attorneys in Florida.  


Mr. Vesely's appellate career began when he became a law clerk/staff attorney at the Second District Court of Appeal working specifically for the late, Honorable Jerry R. Parker, who was Chief Judge at the time.  After several years, Mr. Vesely joined the law firm of Keane & Reese, P.A. in St. Petersburg, Florida.  Working alongside the late Michael J. Keane, Esq., a brilliant appellate practitioner, Mr. Vesely, eventually became partner and lead appellate attorney in the renamed firm of Keane, Reese, Vesely & Gerdes, P.A.  


Shortly after Mr. Keane's untimely passing in 2014, Mr. Vesely was recruited to join the national real estate and creditor's rights law firm, James E. Albertelli, P.A., (a/k/a ALAW), to be the managing partner in their newly formed appellate practice division.  During Mr. Vesely's tenure at ALAW, the appellate practice division recorded a remarkable 62 wins and 3 losses.   


In 2019, Mr. Vesely decided to fulfill his longtime dream of opening his own law firm devoted exclusively to appellate law.  The Florida Appellate Firm, P.A. was formally established on April 1, 2019.  Our office is located at the Plaza Building next to the Sundial in beautiful downtown St. Petersburg, Florida.
